I don't have much knowledge of the art portal but maybe you have tried the .gif format?

I was thinking of gif submissions as well but it does have some limitations, such as being able to hold only 256 colours as well as no sound/music to go with them. :(

I think it's worth asking in the art or help forum in community hub. Maybe there's a solution already posted there somewhere...

Will consider that, thanks!

As far as I know you can upload two types of animated content. A gif animation or a video. The thing is that the gif version has no sound. As the other commentor said, you should check out the forums for some more details.

This has been a weird in-between area we need to properly address. Something like the video you linked to would be best suited for the Art Portal, along with things like 3D turnarounds and speedpaint videos alongside finished pieces.

We plan to address this, potentially as a Supporter feature for the sake of storage and how much unlicensed music we may need to police.

Before we get there we need to finish migrating the Art Portal to the project system (expected this year), then address proper multi-image uploading, at which point we could then add video as an option among the multi-file system (video also has to run through processing so it's not as easy as just accepting the video and popping it in the page).

Webp videos might work well.
